Cheers of Glory is Dance Ensemble Singapore (DES)'s annual end-of-year performing arts showcase. Staged by students as young as 3 years old from DES Performing Academy, the performance features dance and martial arts choreographies by DES Dance Director Sharon Low, Creative Director Cai Shiji, Programme Director Goh Yan Dan, and the academy’s instructors. It also includes special segments - Mandarin phonetics (aka Hanyu Pinyin), Chinese Bamboo Clapping (aka Kuai Ban) and Chinese Orchestra performances - that accompany our dance and martial arts performances to present a holistic Chinese Performing Arts concert by a generation of individuals who are confident in their mother tongue and appreciative of their cultural roots.
Back in theatres for the first time in three years owing to the COVID-19 pandemic, the hard work and talents of our students will come to fruition as they shine bright on stage and experience once again the joy of performing. "Cheers of Glory" is our voice, our hard work, and our hope for a better tomorrow.
